baby- Hey mama whats a compound.
mom- Well dear, a compound is a pure substance composed of two or more elements that are chemically combined, just like sugar.
baby- Ohh
mom- Why did you ask?
baby- Because were learning about it in class tomorrow along with elements and mixtures.
mom- Well do you know what they are?
baby- Well not really can you explain them to me?
mom- Sure. An element is a pure substance that cannot be seperated or broken down into simpler substances by phisical or chemical means.
baby- Oh. Thats alot different then what I thought. So then whats a mixture. Is it a mixture of combination s of two or more substances that are not chemically combined.
mom- yes it is!
baby- yaaaaaay!

You get the best of mixtures
its the combination of two or more substances
that are not chemically combined.

You get the best of compounds
its a pure substance composed of 2 or more
element that are chemically combined.

You get the best of elements
which is a pure substance that cannot be seperated or broken down
into simpler substances by physical or chemical means.


Solution- is a homogeneous(same throughout) mixture composed
of two or more substances.

Forensic Science is a way of science.
